Landscape Criteria

The Gateway Greens Design Review Manual specifies minimum landscape requirements.  For a detailed review go to Design Review Manual found on the Design Review Committee page.  The minimum tree requirements are five to nine canopy trees and four to nine sub-canopy trees depending on lot size.  Minimum height at planting for canopy trees is 12 feet high and 2 inch diameter.  Sub-canopy trees must  be 5 feet high at planting.  When in doubt about how many trees your lot should have, simply maintain the same number of trees originally installed by the builder.  If you don't know how many trees were originally installed, please contact the DRC and someone will help you.  Also, if you are replacing a dead or diseased tree with another tree of the same size and at the same location, you do not need DRC approval.

For other plants, here are the approved: Shrubs , Ground Covers/Vines , and Screening Materials

Annual and Perennial Flowers are permitted as borders around shrubs and trees.  The DRC recommends avoiding the water hogs.  To see a list of drought tolerant flowers: Flowers
