Florida Statute 163.04 prohibits ordinances having the effect of prohibiting the installation of energy devices based on renewable resources such as solar collectors. Therefore homeowners may install solar panels without design review approval. The DRC does recommend homeowners install trees to provide line of site screening from the street when practical.
