Over the last several months, there has been an increasing amount of damage
to landscaping caused by armadillos which have taken up residence within
Gateway. I don't know how much the rest of Gateway is being effected, but damage
is apparent along much of Westlinks Drive and in the the nearby neighborhoods.
As armadillos are nocturnal and may have considerable range in their foraging,
this is not a problem that individual homeowners can do much about... other than
to repair the damage in their landscaping.
I believe this is a problem which would be appropriate for the Association
to address, most likely through a contract with a professional pest control
company. It is my hope that the Board will act on this issue soon, as the
problem will only get worse as the resident armadillos continue to multiply.
